a question on hidden dependencies

The package libdbus-glib is dependency of firefox-esr, according to apt-get.

When I type apt-get install libdbus-glib, I get this:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package libdbus-glib

Ah, so there is no such package.  Acknowledged.

Curious, I typed apt-get firefox-esr, and got this:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
The following additional packages will be installed:
  libdbus-glib-1-2
Suggested packages:
  fonts-stix | otf-stix pulseaudio
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  firefox-esr libdbus-glib-1-2
0 upgraded, 2 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B/63.2 MB of archives.
After this operation, 237 MB of additional disk space will be used.

So how does firefox successfully pull in a dependency that does not exist?

Thank you.
