Chimaera upgrade - old kernel

Following my upgrade to Chimaera, I noticed that, after a reboot, I was still running and old kernel (4.19.0-12-amd64).
This was easily fixed by installing linux-image-amd64, which (currently) pulls in 5.10.0-9-amd64.

I wonder whether the absence of linux-image-amd64 may be related to the uncertain heritage of my OS,
which has  at least passed through Debian Jessie, Devuan Jessie, ASCII & Beowulf.
