@LU344928

I have seen my share of  philosophical beliefs, but there being a matrix  underneath everything, for me is amazingly not the one I consider the craziest.

The one I consider the nuttiest is simple:

You die, your mind and consciousness disappear into nowhere and become nothing. That would be the viewpoint I find the absolute most insane.

Btw, I should probably clarify something, humans cannot on their own find true peace. We seek peace and also seek conflict. A few people seek peace more than conflict but they seem to be less common.

This dilemma is mentioned by a well known villain from a well known anime called Naruto Shippuden. If you don't know who I am talking about, look up Madara Uchiha. So many villains on that show are bonkers. More than a few loose screws... xD

I personally think most humans do strive for some form of peace, but it becomes so difficult, that many give up. That's just me though.

Just making sure you know that. big_smile

Do you have other users on your machines? I dont understand the reasoning to deny root via doas if you are the sole user?

A few things, one of which being its a habit I have to use doas -s

I don't think its a wise behaviour if connected to internet

permit zapper as root
deny zapper as root cmd /bin/bash

Does anyone know how to disallow the parameter that allows the user to become root?

doas -s

keeping all the power doas already has, but without allowing user to become fully root by doas -s and only that.

su must remain the same though as a huge edit and as said, the rest of doas as well.

Did you try with the following ruleset in your /etc/doas.conf?

permit zapper as root
deny zapper as root cmd /bin/bash

You can define more rules for other shells like /bin/sh, /bin/zsh, ...

The one I'm referring to was in issue 269, so it should be number 109 (number 099 was in issue 259). But that site won't show it.

I have a nasty suspicion you can't see the cartoons in the last year (you probably need a subscription). Sorry.

I could get in only into 1 tty. I'll soon check what /etc/inittab says. Maybe something is still missing or Fujitsu's keyboard is a bit faulty.

It kind of made sense that i cannot get into root account by using "su -" if i enter wrong password too many times. But now i think that it could be unrealiable caps lock key/light also.

That does happen... hence why I immensely detest the caps lock button...

rtl8188fu. I wish but it needs firmware to function. Its supported by Linux 6.2 if CONFIG_RTL8XXXU_UNTESTED=y. Rather than using dkms I have built a 6.2+ kernel with support for it and placed the firmware in /lib/firmware/rtlwifi.

So it requires proprietary firmware then eh...

Damn...

@stopAI qemu has kvm inside of it already, last I checked.

Or at least, that's my experience. Though it could be different on debian based distros.

@brday . . . I don't understand your question. AFAIK weekly builds of the daedalus (testing) installer-iso are updated every Monday and available for download on our mirrors.

My question was about the repositories, latest or quarterly. In the system installation or already installed system, is there any way to modify the file containing the repositories, changing the quarterly repositories for latest repositories?

Do you mean like how archlinux based distros can be modified to build differently via PKGBUILDs?

Aka, do you mean the equivelant of PKGBUILDs in Deb format? Assuming such a thing even exists...

Not insane to think it might though.

That's a good question if so.

#671 Re: Devuan Derivatives » JWM KIT love fest » 2023-05-10 23:52:06

@jwmkit what about cpu resources for jwmkit on daedalus vs chimaera

Memory usage doesn't have much effect of any kind imo unless it is extremely significant

For me, I would think cpu usage is probably more of a drain, on battery life more than memory usage anyhow and display more than both. wink

that suggests match-all.action has the default settings.  The actions defined in my match-all.action look the same as the standard.Medium definition in default.action so maybe you're already using medium.

Seems I had to enable-edit-actions by changing 0 to 1

then go to here:

http://config.privoxy.org/show-status

And edit user.actions

More info here as to what I mean

I wasn't completely clear on how to edit before of course though, but yeah.

To both of you anyone else who will reply, in simple words, I just want to know exactly what I need to change in the config user.action in order to turn on medium mode.

Standard mode is just too weak, for my taste.

Although, their documentation doesn't give me an answer as to how to modify for that.
