Yeah, that was it. I found it, that's why I deleted my post. I just now burned it to a DVD, so after I'm done with this post I'm going to reboot and see if it works.

Thanks for you reply, golinux. A few things: one, out of curiosity I opened synaptic and redid my search of "iso," and refractasnapshot was in the list. Somehow I missed it yesterday. Next, I assume refractasnapshot doesn't have a gui, as it's not listed anywhere in the start menu?

When running it in the terminal, I get this message:

configfile is /etc/refractasnapshot.conf
uefi setting is yes

 Warning: grub-efi-amd64 is not installed.
 The snapshot will not be compatible with UEFI.
 To disable this warning, set make_efi=no in /etc/refractasnapshot.conf

My first question is how do I know whether I need to download grub-efi-amd64, or just disable the warning (as is said in the last line)? If I should install it, I'm concerned that it will mess up my system. Will it change the way my system boots?

Thanks siva for sharing your experience with deleting avahi. I also got the same things as you and golinux.

If you go back, you'd see that I did say I'd research it when I have the time. You know, I have a full time job, and a wife and kid that takes quite a bit of my time. I don't live on the computer. I really don't know what I said to warrant such passive aggression. And who was whining? That crack was unwarranted.

I agree with spartrekus that pulseaudio is crap. I avoid anything made by its author.

When I first tried Devuan, I had no idea which installation option I should use. So it was confusing for me. And the one I did download didn't work. Maybe I downloaded the wrong one? Thankfully the Miyo installation file worked. I can appreciate where esr is coming from on this issue, and most of the other things he has said. If he can start his own derivative of Devuan, I'd help any way I could (which would probably be limited to be a beta tester).

Did you download the app via Synaptic? That might be the problem as the repo version is too old to work with youtube videos. I download the app straight from their website (using wget) which gives you the current version:

I totally deleted the line, "sleep 0.5" and the line itself. That was the right way to do it, right? It seems to have made the delay a (very) tad bit shorter.

Thanks GNUser, sudo chmod a+x /usr/local/bin/atril did the trick. There's just one little annoyance . . . when I open Atril (and AbiWord), it first opens unmaximized for a split second, before going maximized. But I can live with that (I'm guessing there's nothing that can be done about that).

Thanks golinux. I'm using Mate. The "Save Current Settings as Default" option didn't help. Any other ideas?
