My experience is like @nobodyuknow  - the cd rom stays enabled - and there are two lines
one is commented out and the other right below it.
I just took it as part of the cd install

[that being said - I usually choose not network install as I feel the CD loads the basic system
faster than downloading. 
' then I comment the "cdrom" source and get the rest via the standard locations

Yes, and systemd-sysv is installed; Synaptic says that's what indicates systemd takeover.
Network-manager-applet looks useful. Any salvageable parts?

It comes with the Openbox configuration manager in Openbox, LXDE and LXQT but I have never been able to install it in other DE.

We need to work on jessie too granted, but ascii is more important in my opinion.
