I certainly will, thanks! I've always found theology fascinating. "Spirituality" means absolutely nothing to me though so perhaps this will help clear up my confusion in that respect :-)

And one for you (no free download though, sorry):

If You Meet the Buddha on the Road, Kill Him by Sheldon B Kopp.

I first read it many years ago when I was a teenager struggling with depression. I've since graduated to bipolar so that's some progress, at least. I found it very helpful anyway.

Ian McEwan:machines like me.
At first it was boring but then the writer introduced Alan Turing and all that "P vs NP"-stuff.

Re: What are you reading/want to read ?

I'm reading a biography of George Orwell ("1984"). "The Ministry of Truth" by Dorian Lynskey. Really good! Generally biographies gives you a lot of history of the times concerned in the book. This book writes about circa 1880-1950 and touches the Spanish civil war, several other big authors of the time like H.G. Wells, just to mention one. As you might already know Orwell/Eric Blair partook in the civil war in the trenches of Spain.

The book 1984 might be hot even today with all the Big Tech and polarization going on in society. But I do not know if I can stand re-reading it right now. The future doesn't seem too promising, I think. smile

Re: What are you reading/want to read ?

1984, disgusting book, well worth the second read 20 years later.

Today I'm reading 'Alan Watts - The Way of Zen'.

I don't know anything about it... wip

Re: What are you reading/want to read ?

@stargate-sg1-cheyenne-mtn . . . Thanks! I learned a new word - agorism - which I will soon forget. All that wordiness makes my head spin! That being said I have lived my life very much on those principles not from being taught but from an inner "knowing". FWIW, I was advocating for Zero Population Growth in the 70s. I never understood the human urge to replicate. Fortunately, that was at a time when reproductive rights were a choice so could permanently protect myself from an oopsie. Not even a hint of regret. Just gratitude for the freedom to have a life of unlimited exploration . . .

Re: What are you reading/want to read ?

Currently reading short story "Hail and Farewell" by Ray Bradbury.
Not in the mood for that kind of stuff this week.
I heard about something called "House of whispers" which has something to do with Neil Gaiman. That seems more intresting. Maybe some day.

Re: What are you reading/want to read ?

Blood Money by Peter Schweizer. It was just released late last month. I'm going to try to get my local library to order a copy.

I ordered used copies of two of his older books yesterday. I'll read those while I'm waiting for my library to purchase a copy of his latest book.

Something called "Quantum Radio". First half was intresting. But after that it started to remind me of some SG1 episodes i have watched before. Boring.

I just finish Ephraim Mattos' book, City Of Death.

A great story of  Humanitarian Warriors.

I found it difficult to put it down.

I just got a copy of Hacking Exposed, Linux 3rd edition.

600 pages, ...

I thought I should share, this book edition was published in 2008, so it's not that current...

Kernel 2.4, netfilter, iptables (no nftables) and many of the links are old as well.

just a heads-up... it's quite expensive for a history story.
