Mine runs freecad with 4Gb, but waiting to install 8.
Just tried, if I blindfully write user and password while bluescreened I can log on and monitors function when linux running.
Grub advanced options show, but nothing else but blue on login screen while starting up from docking station.
It would be nicer to see login screen and devuan text. Any info/ideas?
Monitors are connected to docking station by DVI connectors. Basically computer can't be logged in/started if connected to docking station before powering it on. Bios password shows ok, the texts before forementioned phase scroll ok on other external monitor until two blue screens without any texts and jam there.
Hi,
Thankfull for any info how to possibly solve or where to find more info.
Problem is that when laptop is started in docking station the startup process goes to login screen phase,
but instead of login I get two blue screens with nothing. Also monitors do not repeat the last ascii
strings before login screen.
If I install laptop to docking station after startup It recoqnizes the monitors ok and can work with external monitors.
Monitors are lg and dell so somekind of startup scetch problem when docked before powering on the laptop?
Have to say graphics feel a little better and stable also with the 64-bit install on this HW platform.
Luckily this came at this phase of installation.. Not very much customized yet..
So I will make a fresh install from the amd64 64-bit version files.
Maybe mark this solved.. Thanks everyone for the help.

Shite... So maybe darktable only available as 64-bit?? And maybe I have to install 64-bit devuan..? Can this installation be easily upgraded to 64-bit with some gimmick?
Now I'm thinking if the installation is 32-bit from dvd.. If it is maybe have to upgrade to 64-bit, but lscpu showed this installlation should be 64-bit...??

So was thinking if it is not available to m4500 precision hw architecture platform or is missing in some repo trace??
Rawtherapee installation shows it is 32-bit installation..
I have written also daedalus-proposed-updates repo to synaptic as all else also that is shown in instructions.
checked the /etc/apt/sources.list also with txt editor and it is ok...
Tried also apt update and apt policy darktable from terminal.. Does not find it from terminal or thru synaptic.
Checked also lscpu if system/installation is 64-bit and it should be cabaple running 64-bit software..
How about if it is not available to intel i7 hw architecture from repo??? Says something about amd64 on those screenshots?
How to add non free if it contains non free parts, but shouln't non free soft be included in deb.devuan.org/merged daedalus main ??
I only have currently cdrom since that was install media and then first internet based repo:
http://deb.devuan.org/merged daedalus main
rawtherapee is there and gimp, but can't find darktable.
Thanks for help all. Got printing working.
system-config-printer was allready installed.
Accidentially powered on the printer after usb was connected first and hplip setup popped up. Wen't like aluma said after that.
Also added the printer then from GUI setup and test page/scan review were succesfull.
Thank you all for the fast help.
As being complete linux newbie wanted to ask is it ok to install darktable outside devuan repo
from darktable repo that is meant for debian 12 stable??
Can programs made for debian be installed and do they work or might it brake something from devuan
installation?
Running Daedalus and darktable is not in devuan repo.
I am wondering are third party drivers worth trying or could drivers outside packet manager
brake network structure etc.?
Only drivers I found are some generic drivers or for ubuntu. Driver disk that came with stick
returned some errors from install.sh file.
Any hope on getting the stick to be used as wlan stick on Daedalus or should I buy better(in kernel) supported usb wlan stick?
How dangerous it is to try for example generic or debian driver outside devuan packet manager?
I asume that ubuntu driver will not work?
I am complete linux newbie and tried to install HP laserjet M1212nf MFP multifunction printer to latest Daedalus.
I have installed HPLip and Gui thru packet manager.
lsusb finds usb printer, but HPLip GUI settings doesn't find it and loops back to start menu.
HP says HPLip supports printer fully. There is manual find, but do not know what kind of string/form write to slot from lsusb data..
Any tips forward on troubleshooting?
Feels like HPLip GUI is broken, because find printer next choice returns to start menu without comments.
