Refracta-Snapshot is your friend, it will snapshot your entire system as it is now, and make you an iso file you can burn to DVD or USB and install on your other machine with Refracta-Installer. During the install process you of course will be able to change the username and passwords for the new install. Both apps are in the repo.

Devuan 6 excaliber is now installed on my wife's laptop (after she saw and tried out devuan on my Toshiba and Clevo 4k laptop). She is so happy with Devuan on hers, knowing there is no background system doing unwanted things to her laptop.

Trialled Ubuntu prior, it forced Firefox to be a snap when when trying to put the deb version so deleted it. Then Debian 13 with Gnome, absolutely hated it.

The laptop with XFCe is running very quick, no crashes and no issues and no random updates. She has made a donation to the distro via dyne.org. in appreciation of the efforts by Devuan developers.

Ventoy USB worked for install flawlessly (Net Iso) using mem disk mode.

Install and config of same software and replicating all my scripts, ufw rules, and launchers from my other laptops to hers took about 1.5 days. Is there a smarter way to do this when replicating set up onto another laptop (ie config, scripts, launchers and software? ) . I've been looking at Penguin Eggs (which looks a bit tricky for me) so wondered if there was a better way than manually setting up from scratch (or figuring out penguin eggs) ?
