That's correct, I tested the latest excalibur installer iso (6.1.1) and Networkmanager is still not patched. Your proposed workaround is still valid and fine.
https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=63973#p63973 Entry #6

I set up Devuan 6 with Cinnamon 6.4. Everything works great except access to my home server. I set up access in exactly the same way as I did with Deb 13 and edited FSTAB to automount two folders on the server on start. I am have a couple of issues.
1. Folders on server do not automount on start, they appear on NEMO, because I bookmarked them, but they're not mounted.
2. Preview in NEMO was set up as usual, but nothing except images is previewed. Previously video files and pdf files etal, were previewed.
3. LibreOffice files will not load directly from the server, I have to copy to desktop. then they can be opened.

Also the whole server set up was wrong. Under Deb13, having created a target directory for mount point, then made the changes to FSTAB, on start the folders, correctly named would appear in NEMO. Under Devuan, even doing exactly the same as on DEB13 the folders didn't appear. Instead I had to set up my log in to the server, then 'bookmark' the folders.

The FSTAB entries seem to be ignored on start as the folders appearance is down to the bookmarks.

I am guessing some sort of permissions issue but having fiddled with this for weeks have been unable to resolved.
