ntpdig: no eligible servers

Running ntpdate-debian works though. It seems to be using debian.pool.ntp.org by default.

ntpdate -u pool.ntp.org
hwclock --systohc

again I was not able to update XFCE because the time does not show the right one.
It seems it does not automatically set the right time.
So I had to do it manually.
How can the time set itself automatically?

Note that running synaptic-pkexec also requires a polkit agent to prompt for password. You need to use sudo if you want to be prompted for a password in the terminal.

I even can´t start synaptic via terminal.

I installed lxplkit and rebooted my laptop, but there is still no way to open synaptic.

If I
run-program
synaptic
there is now an option: synaptic-pkexec
but still it can´t be launched.
after pressing "launch" nothing happens

There is a service sync-once in /etc/init.d that runs ntpdate the first time it detects a network connection. Anyway, you can run:

# hwclock --set --date "2026-05-11 21:01"

and

$ date --set "2026-05-11 21:01"

You can set the date with sudo date -s but read the man page for date first, You may find it easier to shut the system down, go into the BIOS and set the date there. Then run date after booting the system.

Once the system date is correct try apt update again. Hopefully it will then work.

but can´t run
apt-update.
