Count me in as well, no interest in Flats and Snaps, but appimages can be very useful. I was running an old system (Jessie) up until late 2023, everything worked great except for the browser and the version in the archive repo just had too many issues to run anymore starting in about 2022, so I downloaded an appimage of what was then the current Firefox ESR and by golly it worked fine both with my old system and the modern internet. Good stuff.

I've also been a vocal proponent of AppImages. If I can't use a working DEB file or compile it from source successfully, AppImages are nice to have for both portability and security (i.e. not having it interfere at all with your system data). Zero complaints.

Agree that appimages are awesome. AM(appman) works like apt for appimages. One can install update or search for apps with ease. And has great options.

AppImages are awesome! It really needs some form of desktop integration though, not just a daemon that adds an icon to the menus. But a component integrated with your desktop that shows the app icon in the file browser and asks you if you want to install it.
I've also noticed a lot of the time AppImages aren't packaged correctly. For example the "Install page as an app" in Chromium browser based AppImages don't work.
