Do you have a keyboard shortcut of some kind for the display settings gui? If so, sticky keys can cause weird behavior.

I'm running devuan 5 with XFCE,  and the display settings window repeatedly opens itself, especially after being idle for a while.   

I keeps my pc (NUC) on for the past few days without using it, and after turning on the monitor, there are a dozen display settings windows opened on the screen.

any advice?
