Apple hardware is a prime example.</p><p>@deviate<br />Try adding this stanza to the kernel command line: <span class="bbc">ACPI_OSI=Darwin</span>&#160; <br />See here: <a href="https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/MacBookPro11,x" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/MacBookPro11,x</a></p><p>Just in case, test this first by editing the <span class="bbc">grub</span> configuration at boot so that the edit will not be permanent.<br />ie. it will apply to only <em>that</em> boot.</p><p>If it boots properly, carefully check the <span class="bbc">dmesg</span> printout to see what is going on.<br />Save it to a <span class="bbc">*.txt</span> file and compare the printout with / without the edit.</p><p>There may be useful data there.</p><p>Best,</p><p>A.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>still have lubuntu 12 on a macbook pro1.1 picked up on ebay as replacement for a broken powerbook g4 years ago;</p><p>it is dualboot macos x / lubuntu , but was difficult to setup; would not have succeeded without a proper guide and a few tweaks that were offered i think as an ubuntu help page (espcially also for keyboard layout).</p><p>unfortunately ubuntu website has &quot;received&quot; a major overhault and cannot find the help page any longer since it could have had contained valuable information even when compared to a newer macbook5,2.</p><p>but i think with the newer macbook you will have much less issues and with devuan maybe less so so good luck for the usage.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>This is just a guess, but you could start by seeing what acpi packages are already installed and compare that to what&#039;s available in the repo.
