			<description><![CDATA[<p>Unless something has changed very recently, The ESR version of Firefox included with Debian/Devuan never &quot;auto-updates&quot; the way mainline Firefox does. It used to display a message that said updates were being &quot;managed by your organization,&quot; but this confused people, so they removed it.</p><p>Putting a hold on the package with <span class="bbc">apt-mark</span> means it will <em>never</em> be updated, not even manually. For an application exposed to the Internet such as a web browser, this can be very dangerous. You won&#039;t get patches even for serious vulnerabilities.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Apparently they removed the option from the settings menu a while back.&#160; &#160;Preferences settings in about:config don&#039;t do anything.&#160; &#160;So I put a &quot;lock&quot; option on the package via the package manager, and hope that will do the trick.</p><p>What is the &quot;correct&quot; way to disable firefox auto-update?</p>]]></description>
