Did you update your copies of the repository meta files first (apt-get update)?

It does sound like you did, and then perhaps something has been removed from debian's pool. I'm not sure the chimaera merge is still happening automatically, so we'll need to check that.

Hi, is the info in this thread still accurate?

I just tried to set up a Devuan Chimaera install I still had around to build a new kernel (long story!), something I'd apparently never done before because make complained that the `bindep-pkg` target wasn't known.

There is no devuan archive mirrors and current morror (hosting provider?) blocks some networks (not all) in my country. I have no access to mirror from Universiry network and have no problems in home network.

I can't replicate the problem, but an access timeout may have many reasons.

Just pulled out my travelling laptop again.

apt update works fine w/o backports. Re-enabling the standard "deb http://deb.devuan.org/merged" backports throws a "Release file not found" error. Starngely enough it works with "deb http://archive.devuan.org/merged".

It might look odd, yes; there is Translation-en.bz2 in devuan while there is Translation-en.xz in debian. However that's the same for other (non-archived) codenames as well.

Do you get a complaint with apt-get update?

bullseye-backports was allways avaliable. There was no removal. bullseye-backports was avaliable in debian archive with no delay.

And now we have no http://archive.devuan.org/merged/dists/ … slation-en in devuan archive... problem is NOT SOLVED. chimaera-backports does not working now.
