			<description><![CDATA[<p>well that seem to have worked but after that all GUI was not working anymore<br />after the reboot I got just a black screen<br />I had to jump into tty and undo everything I&#039;ve done to be able to restore xorg/sddm and use it again (btw it is a plasma desktop)</p>]]></description>

But it is &quot;Pascal&quot; archtecture, same as mine.</p><p>The following packages are manually installed on my system (excalibur, but should not matter):<br />firmware-nvidia-graphics firmware-nvidia-gsp nvidia-alternative nvidia-detect nvidia-driver nvidia-kernel-dkms nvidia-modprobe nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig</p><p><del>You need to run &#039;nvidia-xconfig&#039; to create &#039;xorg.conf&#039;; otherwise X will not start.</del><br />Edit: Just found that there is no &#039;xorg.conf&#039; and an empty &#039;xorg.conf.d&#039; on my system.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>The error messages don&#039;t ring a bell.<br />Are <span class="bbc">linux-headers-amd64</span> and <span class="bbc">firmware-nvidia</span> installed? (assuming yes, but ...)</p><p>Which version of &#039;nvidia-driver&#039; is installed for your card? 535, 525, 470, 418, 390 ? Maybe something version dependant.<br />The labtop might have &quot;optimus&quot; architecture, where you can switch between nvidia and intel graphics. This is needs special setup, I don&#039;t know at all.</p><p>Edit:<br />nvidia_current_open : Does this refer to nvidias new open source drivers (for RTX2000 and later)?</p>]]></description>
