			<description><![CDATA[<p>when you install hplip and hplip-gui, you will be a happy person.<br />Devuan (Daedalus) should be quite up-to-date with respect to the CUPS version.<br />The hplip package delivers you all .ppd files required for your printer<br />The hplip-gui package adds some comfort for tasks like check ink-levels, settings, scan, print etc.<br />In very rare cases you need to install a specific .ppd file, which should be available at HPs web-site.<br />This has worked well the last ~15+ years. Now I switched to Brother printers. No drives and installation needed. What a bliss.<br />BTW, with HP networked printers that should work as well. Now even some Canon networked printers can be used with Linux - without installing extra software.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I had to do an &quot;apt install hplip&quot; (root/sudo) to be able to install my HP Envy 5530 -usb connected printer.<br />HP website wanted me to install a bunch of dependencies [manually] to create/make &#039;hplip&#039; !!!!<br />Much easier with &#039;apt&#039;.<br />HTH down the road - Gary<br />&#039;<br />&#039; @goLinux - good to see you still here <img src="https://dev1galaxy.org/img/smilies/smile.png" width="15" height="15" alt="smile" />, been gone for a couple of years.</p>]]></description>
