			<description><![CDATA[<p>Hello:</p><p>This is a continuation of <a href="https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?id=6315" rel="nofollow">this</a> thread on <span class="bbc">xarchiver 0.5.4.14</span> and the use of passwords with compatible archive formats. ie: those that support passwords.</p><div class="quotebox"><cite>Altoid wrote:</cite><blockquote><div><p>... this may probably be the fastest/lightest and most versatile archiving utility for Linux.<br />It is mature and still works a wonder, which is why I have insisted on using it.</p></div></blockquote></div><p>It has gotten better yet.</p><p>The actual maintainer <a href="https://github.com/ib" rel="nofollow">(Ingo Brückl)</a> kindly accepted to add code so that it would be easier/more straightforward to add a password to a file generated via the right.click -&gt; &#039;Compress ...&#039; action in PCManFM.</p><p>I expect that this also works in <span class="bbc">OpenBox</span> and <span class="bbc">Thunar</span>.</p><p>Now, creating a file from PCManFM with <span class="bbc">xarchiver 0.5.4.22</span> (&#039;Compress ...&#039;) will open the &#039;Add files&#039; window which now has the &#039;Options&#039; previously available <em>only</em> when creating a &#039;New&#039; file from <span class="bbc">xarchiver</span> itself.&#160; &#160;</p><p>ie: &#039;Actions&#039; -&gt; &#039;Include subdirectories&#039;, &#039;Delete files after adding&#039; | &#039;Compression&#039; (levels 1 to 9) and &#039;Encryption&#039;.</p><p>Source code <a href="https://github.com/ib/xarchiver/archive/refs/heads/master.zip" rel="nofollow">here</a>, a <span class="bbc">*.deb</span> package arriving eventually at your neighbourhood Devuan/Debian repositories.</p><p>Best,</p><p>A.</p>]]></description>
