The greyed out button thing I think others have the answer for. My memory is not good but I have heard about the button thing. although I do remember Popeye. smile

f1 on login will show my mate session and it is my only desktop installation but it is purple on purple(more or less) and very hard to see.

]]> Sun, 23 Apr 2017 20:40:00 +0000 https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1237#p1237 <![CDATA[Re: Can not login virtualbox install]]> https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1236#p1236 Third time is the charm.  Tried again, carefully considering my install choices.  After installing the base system it asks "use a network mirror?"  This time I chose "No"    Later it asks what software to install.  Only three were available.  Devuan desktop, Xfce desktop, and utilities.  I checked all three.  Success!  Log in was fine.  The only problem I see is that when I hit log out the reboot and shutdown options are greyed out.  Both the application menu and the action menu.

The live cd user=devuan and password=devuan. The regular install cd are the user and password chosen by you.
I have installed on virtualbox without login issues and harddrive installation also.Good luck to you.

I tried "just user name-hit enter then password and enter for normal login" nothing.
Type in user, hit enter, box goes blank
Type in password, hit enter, box goes blank again
Nothing happens, can not get to desktop
I must be doing something wrong if no one else is having this problem

"Press F1 to select session."  I press F1 and nothing happens. Using a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse.
Going to try making a live USB next.
