Not sure what is usable in your case.
Maybe remapping the whole num-block to portugues characters? This transforms the 105-keyboard to 88-key with special characters.
Or what about using an onscreen keyboard additionally?

It's not linux problem. You can try different international layouts. There is no other way than typing multiple keys to type accents on american qwerty keyboard.

You can simply use US international keyboard. Just go to your favorite DE (gnome, cinnamon, kde etc) find keyboard layout and set it to English (US, alt. intl.)

You can type than all of the above by combining some keys.

Ola amigos! Voce fala ingles? I learn brazilian portugues only about 1.5 months and I need help.
I can't found any information how to type portuguese characters on my Linux keyboard. How to type all this "ãáâàéêíõóôúüç" characters? I have usual 105-keys keyboard without any portuguese characters. At Windows there are one "USA international" keyboard layout where it is possible. Here if I add pt_br layout, it is very inconvenient to have 3 layouts, and, anyway, I don't know how to use it and type this characters!
Help me!!!
