Sadly couldn't make it under 1 GB. Alpine linux is too alien to me. I'll just use an SSD.

I assume it has a usb port? If so then you can have a small boot partition on the first disk, large partition the rest of it, and add another disk or two, put them in raid for a much more useful nearly 2 or 3 GB
Raid0 is on my asus eee pc 2G surfs.

Just for the record: a full "extended" Alpine Linux 3.17 installation occupies ~145 MiB on disk. Might be a better choice.

I am talking about netinstall. I got a very spesific device, it has a 1GB builtin USB disk. It's an hassle to remove. What if I just install netinstall, no GUI, nothing? How much space will it take?
