I'd like to add my experience.

Since I've upgraded to chimera 4.0 from belwulf 3.0, i have noticed Suspend feature failed as well. i have devuan installed on HP desktop with NVidia 9300GT card, i used to be able to put machine into suspend overnight and woke it up next time i use, but now the feature isn't working at all. in the weekend, i tried 'hybrid sleep' option that presented on the power/logoff menu to put it in sleep, and it woke up yesterday ok.
Will continue to see how this goes

May or may not be related.

I recently built a new PC powered by an AMD5600G CPU/GPU. As the motherboard (MSI MPG MS-7C56 1.0) had a newish sensor chip (nct6687-isa-0a20) on it I couldn't get fan rpm readings from using the standard Chimaera kernel 5.10. So I installed the newest kernel 5.16 from backports.
Although I could then see my fan speed data in sensors it completely mucked up suspend/resume that either didn't work at all (just got a lock screen when invoked) or even more annoyingly on a reboot failed to find the resume swap partition and hung for a long time before telling me it couldn't find it and asking if I wanted to just boot. Initially I thought this might be due to my using a swap partition on my RAID1 SSDs, however pointing grub to a normal swap partition didn't help.
However downgrading to 5.15 seems to have partly solved the suspend/resume issue (no longer hangs for swap file error on reboot, but suspend still only works intermittently) but it still recognises the motherboard sensor.
So it seems there is a suspend/resume regression in 5.16 on some systems at least.

Before Devuan I installed another distro called Void Linux in that same laptop and the suspend function worked with no issues and no changes in the BIOS.

The only issue I had with Void was in the Cinnamon desktop environment where some parts or even the entire screen had glitches, but I think it was an exception because then I installed GNOME and it worked with no issues.

Hi everyone, I recently installed Devuan 4.0.0 on a laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 5 14ARE05) but the suspend functionality is not working. I use GDM and the Budgie desktop environment, neither the "Suspend button" on the Budgie panel nor the power button (when set to "Suspend" in the GNOME settings) really suspend the laptop, they just turn the screen off.
Below you can find the output of some commands to get more info.

$ doas dmesg | grep "suspend"
