Appears from reading what the Ublock origin team says, "it depends". Depends on which filter lists are currently enabled, what those filter lists are currently doing to Google Analytics on which sites, and on which site you visit. For example, the filter lists don't want to break Youtube for everyone or people would stop using the lists.

Might need to use noscript (or use Ublock origin in advanced mode) if you want to manually ensure that the GA js is always turned off.

yes it does. it blocks many other tracking/spammy things too..
i find "ublock origin" absolutely necessary to browse modern-day web. and also use some dns-level filters.

I don't use uBlock so I'm sure golinux is correct.

Thanks for the link HoaS. I run uBlock Origin in all my browsers . . . is the add-on you linked to still necessary?

Note that the big G doesn't need the browser to track you because their ubiquitous Analytics tools already do that. Be sure to install the Analytics blocker extension that Google try to hide as best they can:

In going through Chromium's settings I came across something that looks like a typical "gooble-ism" spyware, the setting Continue running background apps when Chromium is closed in Settings >> Advanced >> System. Anybody have any idea what in the world this is? Why would I want background apps (apparently for Chromium??) to continue running when I close the browser? Of course I unchecked it. Any input on what this is and does would be appreciated.
