This problem goes away if you start by installing debian and switch to devuan. It only happens on a clean devuan install, and it happens on the mate desktop too. It's a bug. Losing user settings, is data loss. I don't know how to log this as a bug but I did notice systemd doing the alsa save and restore thing, but not devuan.
Other distros with sysvinit, antix etc, do not have this bug.

Does anyone know if there is any other application in Devuan that I can install similar to 'ayatana-indicator-sound'?-- although it seems to me that there is a bug with the volume control either pulseaudio or pavucontrol.
Anyway, if there is another alternative, then I could check where is the problem ... so I think ... I'm not an expert.

Thanks.

Hello,

The configuration in xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin is not kept after shutdown/startup -- only on reboot this one lasts.

{It switches back to speakers if I put it on headphones or the volume decreases even if I turn it up, etc}.

I've tried several times with 'logout' to see if it resolves the issue, nothing.

And no, I haven't found anything on Google about this problem.

Am I missing something to install...?

Thanks for any comments.
