Hi! Is this valid for the upcoming RC release too? If I have beta2 installed will I get to RC via normal apt-get updates?

Thank you for the knowledgeably information. Then I'm quite satisfied and will continue on my way of using Devuan. Thanks again and best wishes.

You're already there. If you're doing regular updates, the beta2 won't give you anything you don't already have. I don't know if there will be point releases after jessie is stable. I think the focus will be shifting to ascii when that happens. Stretch is already in freeze and will probably be stable before the flowers bloom in the northern hemisphere.

One thing the beta2 isos will give you that the beta1 didn't do was install from the media without a network connection. The beta1 isos only did netinstall. That's been fixed.

I have running Devuan (since Alpha1 until Beta) on Thinkpad T430 (64-bit version), in a virtualbox-VM (64-bit version) and on Mininotebook JVC731 (32-bit version), without desktop-environment, but with a windowmanager (JWM) and selfinstalled the needed software/programs. Regularly updating the systems and matching the repositories in /etc/apt/sources.list, but without installation of new release-images (e.g. netinst.iso).
How can I verify, which release-version is now exactly running on my system. Cat /etc/devuan_version says only „jessie“. Will there Debian-like the new release-version installed while „updating/dist-upgrading“?
In my case the Beta2?. Or must I do a complete new installation with the newer release-version, e.g. with the new Beta2-netinst.iso?
Thank you very much, dear experts, for any helpful hints.
