with Devuan Beowulf on my Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU, I just had to edit /etc/default/grub and update grub configuration. Just in case you are curious and did not do it yourself, yet.

# cat /etc/default/grub|grep fast
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i915.fastboot=1"

and

# update-grub2

Done.
