I am not a dev - just a user. I have been using both jessie and ascii for months. For me, for the programs I use, for my use case, ascii is now rock-solid. I am sure there are programs that you and/or others might want to use that are still glitchy. That said, ascii is based on stretch, which is Debian stable - the only real issue is getting rid of systemd throughout. Sometimes a program you want to use depends on something that depends on something that depends on something that still depends on systemd. I had several such issues up to a couple of months ago, then suddenly that final link in the dependency chain was fixed, and all was well.

Again, YMMV, and I'm sure it will. Are you trying to do something in ascii and finding it doesn't work, or is unstable? If so, report it. If not, from where comes your 'feeling'? Ascii is testing, so yes, it's not time to roll it out for production. But if you have it already installed, then just test it and see what you can see.

Please don't misinterpret my question as impatient or as criticism, I'm just curious!
You did a very good job on providing a systemd-free distribution and I already switched most of my clients to Devuan.

I'm sure, you already have plans for my questions, but I didn't find the answers even though I was looking around:

1. Do you plan a page comparable to "http://packages.debian.org/"? I regularly have the need to find which package a specific file is inside. As long as I use jessie, the results from Debian will be good enough, but I assume as soon as I switch to ascii, there will be no workaround.

2. Do you plan an overview of the status of the releases? For example: just because I'm curious, I created a VM, made a fresh install of jessie and upgraded to ascii. I have the feeling ascii is far from being stable (which is not surprising me!), but I don't find a place I could verify my feeling.

Armin
