Devuan Bug Tracking System (BTS)

Devuan is phasing out using git.devuan.org's issue system, towards instead using Devuan bug tracking system. The issue list presented in this forum is therefore gradually becoming more and more of historical interest only.

Note that the Devuan BTS is operated by emails, and not through web browsing.

No. I'm under the impression that it was a choice not to enable it. KatolaZ is planning to put together a less bloated alternative.  Please correct me if I got that wrong.

Re: Devuan Bug Tracking System (BTS)

I am quite familiar with reportbug as I used it in the Debian days.  I learned of the SOAP issue via the DNG mailing list.  Hopefully something can be put in place soon as without the ability to query the BTS, using reportbug is like driving blind.

I tried to send an email to the BTS to follow up on bug 69 and while I received an acknowledgment from the BTS, my followup does not appear on the bug's Web page.  Jaromil replied that this has happened for him and that KatolaZ is working on the issues at hand.

I am patiently waiting.  smile

An announcement was made on  this forum

And also in the announcement of the stable release and several other places on the website:

Devuan Jessie 1.0.0 Stable is a major milestone in the new path drawn by the Devuan project and its development has provided an opportunity to lay down a strong foundation for the Devuan community. In the last two years we have put in place a powerful infrastructure to support the development and growth of Devuan, which now includes:

    Source management https://git.devuan.org
    Continuous integration https://ci.devuan.org
    Bug tracking https://bugs.devuan.org
    User forum https://dev1galaxy.org
    Package statistics and analysis https://popcon.devuan.org

Plus it's been announced on the DNG mail list and irc channels.

Re: Devuan Bug Tracking System (BTS)

today seems i not the only with problems in UTF8/LANG environment in devuan: https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=3376#p3376

seems this distribution becomes a zealont only distro.  the bugtracker are very "alone" in responses

Re: Devuan Bug Tracking System (BTS)

Devuan is the first distro I have encountered where the terminal doesn't handle UTF-8 - it is simply incomplete. It can't be that hard to fix this, since Debian has had this for many years before systemd. This needs to be fixed to be taken serious as a stable release. I want Devuan to succeed, as more and more people will want a good distro without systemd, this is the best base. But it needs to be fully functional to be usable.

Re: Devuan Bug Tracking System (BTS)

Can you please provide more explicit information.  It's likely the problem is upstream.

<KatolaZ> they must be using some X terminal emulator without UTF support
<KatolaZ> they must explicitly report which application is failing showing those characters
<KatolaZ> saying "under X" is saying nothing
<KatolaZ> and saying "yes, me too!" is at least as useless

Re: Devuan Bug Tracking System (BTS)

here is a link on setting up / verifying UTF-8 locales
I am en_US so I can't help much with the other languages for a test bed
