			<description><![CDATA[<p>Try Ctrl-Alt-F1 at the blank screen to see if that gets you to a text console. The blank screen might be the GUI trying to work.</p><p>Could you take a video of the boot process with your phone etc and play it back slowed down to see what the messages are? If you are still stuck post it somewhere we can read it.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I installed the iso and got a boot menu.&#160; The system would not boot.&#160; I gave it 15 minutes to boot.&#160; The boot menu worked because I was able to boot into my working system.</p><p>I installed Cinnamon, KDE and LDE and made lightDM the primary bootloader.&#160; Perhaps I should omit KDE.</p><p>I can probably mount the root partition from my working system to alter any files or should I reinstall without KDE?</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>You used the desktop-LIVE iso that camtaf suggest you not use. Try one of the installer isos - either the netinstall or desktop iso found here: <a href="https://files.devuan.org/devuan_excalibur/installer-iso/" rel="nofollow">https://files.devuan.org/devuan_excalib … aller-iso/</a></p><p>The desktop iso has all the packages you need in case you want to install something without a network connection. The netinstall iso only has the base system and needs network to install other stuff. Both of those will use the network to pull packages from the repo when you install. Both of those use the debian-installer (for devuan) and will let you choose a different desktop environment.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I suggested using the Desktop .iso, not the Live .iso - the &#039;live&#039; can only install XFCE, whilst the &#039;desktop&#039; gives you the choice.</p><p>(I have found that using &#039;live&#039; sometimes needs to be connected to the internet to be able to install the Grub boot loader.)</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I have tried several times to install.&#160; The installer did not follow the steps outlined on <a href="https://www.devuan.org/os/documentation/install-guides/excalibur/install-devuan" rel="nofollow">https://www.devuan.org/os/documentation … all-devuan</a>.&#160; I was not offered the option to choose a DE.</p><p>I accepted my lot and installed as best I could.&#160; When I tried to boot, I had to use the command <em>initramfs</em>.&#160; I could find no option for that which enabled me to proceed.&#160; I ended up using &#039;exit&#039; which resulted in kernel panic and a line with a line space on it so I had to shut down the computer.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>SSID is simply the &quot;name&quot; of the network you want to connect to. The installer has no &quot;scan&quot; facility, so the simplest answer is probably to check with some device that does. <br />It&#039;ll be either whatever you or the network admin set it to, or manufacturer default, usually found on a sticker on the AP.</p><p>You will of course also need the password or key.</p>]]></description>
