			<description><![CDATA[<p>I always boot to console mode and run startx if I want the gui, in<br />which case I use a mouse. I often drop back to console mode via Xfce<br />logout.</p><p>The touchpad has permanently been disabled for the X environment using<br />the Xfce Device Manager.&#160; Alas, the touchpad stays enabled in console<br />mode, before startx and after xfce logout.</p><p>There is no obvious way to disable the touchpad in BIOS.&#160; How can I<br />permanently disable it for console mode?</p><p>- Laptop is Huawei Matebook X pro, likely 2018<br />- Devuan Excalibur<br />- libinput list-devices finds:<br />&#160; SYNA1D31:00 06CB:CD48 Touchpad<br />- Logitech M650 L (bluetooth) mouse must continue to work</p><p>Edited February 1 to add:</p><p>No need to disable the touchpad.
