Installed the Vendewolf LXQT DE on a Lenovo MiiX 510-121kb that I recently acquired. Long time Debian user but have been looking for an excuse to try Devuan out and this seemed the ideal opportunity. Was looking to go super lightweight although TBF the Lenovo isn't exactly poorly spec'd with intel i5 7200 cpu, 8gb RAM, 256gb SSD. So can confirm that encryption also failed on LXQT install but the upside is that the etc/sudoers.d file was empty. One or two minor bugs but presumably there will be a tweaks update before too long.

It's possible that the dev's have already tidied up some of the issues previously reported and I have found this install to be an enjoyable experience so far, so I might just stick with it for now at least, assuming there are no more surprises. One thing I can report is it's lightening fast on this 6 year old mid range Lenovo laptop.

Same here. Luks is broken drops to initramfs. Installed Devuan with LUKS and Plasma.

I tried the Vandefoul Cinnamon download (21 March 2026). LUKS install is broken and dumps me at initramfs....Gate it a shot but installed Devuan and just moved on (with LUKS and Cinnamon desktop).

Ouch! Thanks for making me notice all the above. I did manage to fix some things manually, but all in all, anyone shipping with such a pre-configured /etc/sudoers doesn't really inspire trust...

Whoever set up that list of sudo parms obviously thought the system would only ever be used by it's owner. So security would not matter.

%sudo ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/rm would be a recipe for disaster on a multi-user system.
Consider what happens if someone who's just been given notice types sudo /usr/bin/rm -rF / (please DON'T try it out to see what it does)?

And if *any* of the listed programs can be updated a hacker could gain permanent root access.

I was trying out kde plasma a few weeks ago on a vm and had the same issue.
I had to import the default settings in window keyboard shortcuts or something.
It was just a case of clicking the import button and the defaults filled in automatically.

Yes. I restored the default behaviour. Now Alt+Tab works but the problem is that this require manual intervention.

One more issue I've found in this distro: "no touchpad found". Touchpad works somehow (no 2 finger click or similar just very basic usage) but cannot be configured. xserver-xlibre-input-libinput and xserver-xlibre-input-synaptics are installed

Continue to test.

So, the first issue - encrypted install is broken.
The second one - "lobo" user name appears after each restart in login field of SDDM.
The third issue - screen capture utility seems not to appear after "print screen" key is pressed.

Not an issue just a point of attention. 25% of OnlyOffice is bought by VK (VK ~ FSB, former KGB in Russia) It's not an issue if it does not connect to internet , just a matter of choice.
