@Codalunga I just got my StarLabs Byte a few days ago. After some days of struggle I can now use that one with 2 Monitors (as soon as the new cables arrive).
What was a real annoyance: The DP didn't give any signal until I figured out this:
My monitor was connected with a DP - DVI cable at the DP out of my TP460 dock working just fine. The Byte somehow does only get a signal with a direct DP to DP cable.

What a 2nd selling point for StarLabs was (beside the openBIOS): The open warranty. OPening the device for hardware upgrade, doesn't void the warranty.
I removed the WiFi/BT chip in mine.

T480 is a definite improvement over T430 and X230 too. It uses very little electricity from what i see. And at 5.0 load it barely feels hot on my chest.

I'm a happy user of a StarLabs StarBook. I believe it's a 6th generation one, no complaints whatsoever. And the bios update process is pretty straightforward; I've had it for a couple of years and the laptop improved with each update. Highly recommended!

I think its common news probably now, but I will say it anyways,

T480/T480s are now supported by libreboot.

Those are 8th gen intel laptops. And if you use me clean on it in combination, which libreboot dev Leah has as a default when its flashed correctly.

Then its a VERY fast libreboot laptop.

The fastest I know of anyhow that isn't a chromebook and maybe in general.

If anyone loves such tech, I recommend you to buy one. I pondered such an idea recently.
