This is the SANE backed, it is installed in my system, but the configuration of "Scan to USB" is a different kind of thing.

We are very few users. But if we knew the protocol, we could write our own utility. It seems a very simple task.

It would seem that there isn't one for Linux, but can't say I'm surprised.

I use simple-scan 3.30.1.1-1+b1 amd64 with my trusty ca.1995 Umax S-6E, which is still going strong.
Easy to use and can save scans/series of scans (as *.pdf or *.png) to anything I have available.
But besides cropping, that's about it.

And, quite obviously, my box is definitely required.

Thanks for your hints. I've been already there. All your URL works, but none of them allows configuration of the "Scan to USB".

Anyway, I'm happy with the scanner. It is small, not expensive and reliable.

I am searching for a Linux supported document scanner

I bought a document scanner when the lockdown here is Spain. I couldn't find what I exactly wanted, but at the end this worked for me:
Brother ADS-1200

Main advantage: I use the scanner without conexion to the computer, through a USB stick.
Main problem: I cannot run any Linux program to access the configuration of the to USB scanning. I have to use other OS (proprietary).

I have used this device succesfully and extensively. YMMV.

I think that more expensive Brother models with operation panel can be fully used without proprietary OS, but I'm not sure.

So I am searching for a Linux supported document scanner, holding 20-50 pages, duplex unit, preferred USB3 interface, maybe with ultrasound sensor for a double pull detection.

Suggestions welcome,
