			<description><![CDATA[<p>sync, my friend, is the answer.<br />do a &quot;man sync&quot; first and rtfm.<br />Obviously, you should run it as root or using sudo.<br />Should you have a hardware RAID controller, the data will not be flushed from the controller-cache to the disks!<br />Sync flushes disk-data from the main memory (system RAM) only.<br />Hope that helps.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>My file-server, running Ascii, has 32GB RAM and after syncing my home folder to the RAID, cached data remains visible in the RAM in the Webmin overview page. How do I get to flush this data from RAM? I know I can reboot, but there should be an alternative way. In Linux, there always is <img src="http://dev1galaxy.org/img/smilies/wink.png" width="15" height="15" alt="wink" /> (well, almost always <img src="http://dev1galaxy.org/img/smilies/tongue.png" width="15" height="15" alt="tongue" /> )</p><p>TIA!</p>]]></description>
