Today, I installed Devuan Ascii from a netinstall onto my old i686 laptop. It has a little under 1 gb of ram. It appears to now be brought back to life. I went with Openbox, and have only just begun customizing the installation The extra options in the expert installation were amazing and much appreciated. I decided to go with OpenRC as the init, and I'm tempted to reinstall again just to try LILO instead of grub. smile

It starts up under 100 mbs of ram. smile
