Fsmithred is right, I used the wrong thread where the openrc ascii iso is mentioned to add my excitment of getting it to work after a gfx glitch.  Would you be kind enough to clip the messages from https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=6252#p6252 onwards (mine at least) and bring them to this thread which seems more appropriate?

There is a way to split a thread and start a new post but I can't find a way to merge posts into another thread.  I suggest you repost your comments in a more appropriate place and then delete the posts in this thread.  I can delete them if you are unable to do so but I will need the exact post #s.  I gave up trying to follow your experiments closely long ago so really not able to sort this on my own . . .

Did you get a desktop running, is this ram on openbox?

I got 2222 to run well on console as well, it is X I couldn't sufficiently get working.  But it has been over a month.

I started a new thread after installing and solving the X problem I had.
I am ecstatic that my OpenRC ascii is running, thanks to refracta experimental iso.

Boot time speed is also similar ~6-7sec.
Anyway second day running an no problems with X or any other services. Still I will run OpenRC vesion alongside sysv for some time before deciding to remove one or another.

edit:
After removing few services usage went down to 253MB. Still this is not related to init but what I run. CRUX with fluxbox runs at ~80MB so if needed RAM usage can be trimmed but I don't see any need for this as I assigned 13GB RAM for Devuan which is more that this VM would ever need as far as I know.

32 bit Devuan Ascii Openbox using OpenRC.

Boots up at 65 MBs of RAM.

I installed openrc in ascii today after I got the deb packages from Svante. I see you already uploaded them. I did, too - http://distro.ibiblio.org/refracta/files/openrc/

Great that users now have more than one place to go for these packages!

That one is in the repos, no need to download it from either of our places, and anyway it is not in either CroatiaFidelis.hr nor ibiblio.org, that one above...
